Our First Anniversary

Our First Anniversary

One year has passed since we said “I do”, since we began, by God’s grace, to live happily ever after. It’s an important milestone, so my husband and I set out to celebrate - with a surprise from me.

We booked the same honeymoon suite at The Coeur d’Alene Resort that we stayed in for our honeymoon, planned a special menu, and were very excited for the day to come.

My surprise came first: I had booked a lovely photographer, a hairstylist, and enlisted the help of friends to out together a special “first look” and dinner in the gazebo where we were married.

It was all so lovely.

One beautiful year capped with a beautiful, four-day weekend together, a couples’ massage, and a heavenly dinner of filet mignon.

As the hours slipped by, I was delighted and amazed by the look in Daniel’s eyes. Deep and loving, he hardly took his eyes off of me, hardly went minutes without holding me, and sweet words of admiration and love never ceased from his lips. Truly, this is a love worth waiting for - and not only for the incredibly sweet, romantic moments, but also for the way he treats me in the moments of tension and confusion. It was worth the wait. He was worth the wait. I was worth the wait. God’s best was worth the wait (and the struggle).

Kellie Arndt, a photographer-friend, captured our sweet day with all the magic one could wish for.

Cheers to our first year, and to our second.
